Last week I had the opportunity to head to Eastern North Carolina where Jose and Iived for 10 years. It was so funny because it was the second trip in one month that I was invited on that both took me back to the beautiful Crystal Coast of North Carolina where we lived for the majority of our marriage. I almost took it as a sign.. like we should be there haha. But visiting was so nice & I’ll continue to do so because I really did leave a piece of my heart there. Anyways, this trip was with Hunter Fan Company & I’m so glad that I went! One thing I truly love about blogging is working with brands & companies that I truly love & learning more about them & all the behind the scenes. I am pretty picky about who I work with and where I go because honestly it has to be someone I love for me to leave my home & my shop… homebody for life here. But I also only want to share companies with you guys that I can stand behind & that I would use myself. & Hunter Fan Company is one of them. For most of our trip Hunter took us sight seeing around Eastern North Carolina & we had the best time with lots of laughs & seeing breathtaking places from Shakleford banks with tons of wild horses to Cape Lookout where we climbed a lighthouse…
The funny thing about Hunter Fan Company & my background is that when I was in design school my first job was at a lighting store & I would help builders pick out fans and lighting for their homes & Hunter Fan Company was always the number one pick not only for craftsmanship but also design. Now, what I knew of fans were that they were all kind of the same & a fan was a fan. Well, this trip changed my whole outlook on fans. We were able to meet and talk to one of the fan designers & it was so fascinating to learn about the process of designing the fans & made me appreciate them so much more. The first day we were in Atlantic Beach where we were staying at a beach house provided by Emerald Isle Reality, they revealed to us the makeover of the beach house & what it looked like before & after their design team got a hold of it. The rooms got a complete update with new decor & new ceiling fans & I couldn’t believe what a difference a simple fan change did for the rooms…
After we saw the beach house reveal we got to design our own rooms around the fan of our choice. I picked the Mill Valley fan in matte silver & designed an outdoor space. I chose a farmhouse vibe for my mood board with black and white accents filled with tons of greenery. I was inspired by the town of beaufort that we got to explore while we were down there. You can see the homes that I saw in Beaufort that inspired me [HERE]. I really think we need this mill Valley fan at our farmhouse. My favorite part about it? It’s rated for indoor & outdoor use! We got to present our mood boards to the group which was totally fun to see how different our designs were around the fans & it brought me back to my design school days which was fun because the school I went to was 5 minutes up the road from where I presented my hunter fan board. How crazy is that? I would have never thought in a million years I would be at a beach house right down the road from my college 6 years later presenting a mood board to the Hunter fan team. Never!
Here are some other fans from Hunter that totally inspired me on our trip. I can’t believe how stylish fans can make a space!? If you would have told me I would be obsessed with a ceiling fan a few years ago I would have laughed at you, but now look….
mint fan// black fan// aged oak & brass fan// white & brass fan// black rounded fan// white fan with gold cage// bronze fan with aged blades// white fan with aged blades//
It was impossible for me to share enough photos or words to describe the whole trip, but I hope you get the idea of what an awesome trip was. A huge shoutout to Hunter Fan Company. & the Zimmerman group for the amazing trip & for all the inspiration. Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog today & for checking out the fans I learned about. What fan is your favorite?!
