Ok, I’m so excited about this! Last week I shared that we ripped up all the carpet in our upstairs of our farmhouse which is one of the most exciting things that has happened in our farmhouse renovation lately. Not because of something we discovered or something cool or because it now looks beautiful, but because the carpet had to go! It had it’s time in this life, but it’s time was up in this farmhouse. Then last week after I told you that we were ripping the carpet out, I told you that we were laying pine floors upstairs [HERE] like we did in our downstairs. Well, now we started working with the pine floors & I wanted to share that little update with you guys today…
We are painting them! As many of you know, we LOVE our painted floors in the downstairs of our home & they have held up & performed beautifully for us. I have found that painted floors are my jam & I am pretty much obsessed with them & how they vibe with our style. We started here in the guest bedroom upstairs & painted the floors the same color we did the downstairs floors [BM Tapestry Beige] using Behr Porch & Patio Paint & I’m loving the update so far & how it’s updated this room so far. We were going to do a different color in this room on the floor, but the boards run directly from the guest bedroom into the hallway so we wanted some continuity on the floors upstairs with no breaks so we are going to keep it all the same up here. So fresh & so clean is the goal! I can’t believe how much more cozy this room is getting already… just wait. This might be my favorite room in the whole house soon. Next up… getting rid of that blue wallpaper… I’ll update you with that very soon hopefully!
Here was the room before we started:
& now sans that blue carpet…
The upstairs already smells better with all of the old carpet gone. It just makes me happy because that means our upstairs will be looking pretty one day! & this room holds a special meaning that I will share very soon with you guys. I hope you guys are loving our progress so far! You can read how we paint floors, what we use, & all our tips [HERE]. Be sure to follow me on Instagram, Facebook, & Pinterest for more behind the scenes of our fixer upper journey. Thank you guys SO MUCH for stopping by the blog today & everyday to see what we are up to! xx
In case you missed it…
“This room holds a special meaning”…. cant wait to hear about it 🙂
Love it so much better!!! I was wondering if you find the white floors hard to keep clean? Do they mark up easily? Are they easy to clean? Do you find stuff gets in the cracks?
Thanks
Just beautifull ❤️
Right?!? What could it be! ?
The floor really makes a difference, so bright and cozy.
What a transformation it is beautiful and can’t wait to hear your special story on this.♥️
Help please! Please share how you removed the wallpaper. After removing did you retexture?
Would love to know how to keep these floors clean along with how to clean in the cracks! I really love these! Excited to hear your news soon!!
Can’t wait to hear the rest of the room story ? Beautiful transformation! What is the thickness of the pine boards y’all use? ?
OK, my heart is skipping a few beats. Hurry with your news Liz!!
Removing the carpet and going with the painted pine floors really made the room look larger. Will even look better with the wallpaper gone. Can’t wait to see the vision you are creating for this room “with special meaning.” I think I might know what the meaning of that phrase is, but will wait for your announcement. I always save your blog for last so I can savor everything and really enjoy everything you have done to improve your fixer-upper so far and your store. Wish I had even a smidgen of your talent. Can’t wait for the rest, as the best is yet to come as they say.
Those floors are beautiful! Can’t wait to see what’s next and why this room had special meaning.
Love love love the painted floors! BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
