Hi guys! & Happy Monday. I have been working on some awesome DIY projects lately, but I wanted to share something kind of fun that we added to our dining room this past weekend to start this week off. As you know we have a small kitchen. Not a secret, & also not a huge deal. No complaints here really because I’m just finding awesome & pretty ways to add additional storage to our kitchen & dining room. Last week I blogged these kitchen shelves [here] that we recently added for storage & now we added an awesome dining room plate rack…
I found mine at a local store where I sell at, Painted Farmgirl, but if you are not local you can find the same one at Painted Fox online [here]. I chose to store out dinner plates on the rack & yes we do use these plates. & yes we use them often enough that we don’t have to worry about dust. I get a lot of “dust questions” quite often, but in our house here in Michigan we don’t have a lot of excess dust. The way some people comment on my blog about dust on all my posts & worry about how dusty our items get makes me wonder what kind of dust people deal with.. maybe I haven’t experienced dust like some of you have? I don’t know! Anyways.. don’t worry about us, we won’t be eating dust. I just love that it opened up room in one of our cupboards & I love the way it looks too.
I am still looking for something to hang on the other side of our dining room cubbies, but for now this is how it looks. I’m always changing thing around in our little cottage & that brings me a lot of joy & this little change is a fun one. If you have any suggestions for the other side of the cubbies let me know in the comments below, I’m always open to new ideas from you guys so don’t be scared to leave them.
Let me know what you guys think of our new dining room addition & all of that jazz in the comments below & I’m hoping to have a super awesome DIY project up for you guys tomorrow so stay tuned for that. I hope you guys had a great weekend & that something in this post left you feeling inspired. Thank you for stopping by my little blog & be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram to follow me around! xx
More of our dining room:
Love it! My friend just hung her vintage time card holder with in her kitchen and is using it as a recipe card holder. I know you just hung yours in your office and I’m not sure it would count as functional storage but, it would be pretty!
A tobacco basket on he other side would be cute.. Where did you find your shade on your mason jar lamp.. Thks
I know it’s still August but when do you think you will bust out the fall decor?
Hahaha I love that people write in concerned about your dust issues. That is too funny. We have a lot of dust in my house but I don’t mind it as much as the dog hair tumbleweeds we get because I don’t sweep as often as I should 😛 I bet you don’t notice the dust like some people do because most of your decor is light colored. Maybe like three little succulent prints hanging vertically on the left side? 🙂
I love the plate rack. Simple and beautiful. I was wondering if the plates could be flipped so the pretty side was visible? Any dust you did have would be on the bottom of the plate, helping to ease the worry of those of us who live in the desert and acquire dust by the pound on a daily basis ( I didn’t have much dust while I lived in MI either…Sigh). Either way, I think the rack is perfect and I want one just like it! Mine would be a dust magnet, but I don’t care. I’m brave like that.
I love it! I think your dinning room looks awesome! I love the cow print!
You need a primitive painting of chickens. But then that is just me, I am partial to chickens. 🙂
Fantastic!
Hey there Maggie. The lamp shade isn’t on World Market’s website but if you happen to have a store location near you they do have them in the stores. I purchased mine yesterday.
