Last week I shared our rustic glam Christmas dining room on the blog [here]. It was kind of an overview & I left out some of my favorite parts because the post was getting long & I didn’t want to make you bored. I don’t think I ever showed you this piece of furniture when we moved it in this summer, but this old cupboard that I picked up from our shop is one of my favorite pieces in our farmhouse now…
It’s seriously the most simply beautiful piece that we own & I’m obsessed with the chippy headboard. Right now I do not store anything in the cupboard, but I imagine soon it will be piled with dining room decor & dishes. I can’t get enough storage! & pretty storage is always a bonus. On top of this piece is something that is extra special to me. You see, I’ve said it before, but my grandma & my aunt [who is one of the amazing people I own the shop with] are two of my biggest inspirations when it comes to decorating & many other things. My grandma has been through a lot these past two years with losing my grandpa, but she is still the same giving woman who has the best taste in home decor. That grandma of mine has the best taste & she isn’t afraid to share it which is my favorite thing ever. A few weeks ago she found this chippy santa & she picked it up for our farmhouse. He’s quite possibly my favorite piece of Christmas decor ever. My gram stopped in the shop one day when I was working to give me this chippy santa & she couldn’t stay long because she has a better social life than I do, but when she left after we chatted for a few in the front of the store, everyone that was shopping turned to me and asked if that was grandma, when I said yes they immediately told me that she was their favorite person. That’s just how she is. Lovable, sassy, & has the best style around. I want to be here when I grow up.
I also love everything else in this little Christmas corner of our dining room like this thrifted chair, ice skates, & window. The tree, pillow, ornament garland, wreath, & dishes all from Home Goods are my favorite finds this year for our holiday decor. & that three tiered tray from my collection at Painted Fox [here] is always a staple in our decor in every season.
Since our whole house is under construction during this holiday season I’ve enjoyed decorating little corners like this for the holidays. This rustic farmhouse of ours looks pretty good dressed up for Christmas don’t you think? Let me know what you think of this little christmas corner in our dining room & that santa that my grandma got me.. isn’t she the best? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx
Everything you decorate is beautiful! You are such an inspiration to me for decorating my home, and your such a lovely lady too!! Thank you 🙂
You live in the coolest house with the coolest stuff! I love it.
Stunning, just like the rest of your house! I love how your family inspires you so much. My mother is very creative herself and I definitely have grown off of her creativeness as well.
Your sweet little Christmas corner is just wonderful, and grandmas chippy santa just adds to the charm. I really love how you decorated for the holiday without using any red – the look you have achieved is absolutely stunning and has definitely inspired me to try and achieve the same look in my home. I am going for simple, calm and natural this year, and that is exactly how I feel when I look at your rooms. Thank you for sharing, you have provided me with much needed direction for my holiday decor.
Can we talk about the chair for a moment?! WOW! What a beauty!
Really looking forward to following you on your house renovation.
Love the look of your dining room! Even the sanded floors add to the rustic, farmhouse style. What are the plans for the floors? If it were me I would seal them just as they are, leaving the old paint on the edges to show the history of the home. Now I’m going back to view the rest of your Christmas decor! Thanks for sharing.
