I’ve been meaning to write you guys about something for a while, but still can’t find the words quite yet so I’m going to do what I do best & talk through my decor today. I’ve been feeling super overwhelmed & busy lately & by no means am I glorifying that. I can’t wait for our market [HERE] to finally come to fruition next week so that my life can slow down, so I can gather my thoughts, & so I can be more present. But today I wanted to come here to say thank you to you guys & what better way to do that than with a “thankful fall potting bench” I put together this week…
I don’t think I say it enough & I hope you know this is real & truly from my heart. I am forever thankful for you guys. I’m thankful that on my darkest days through this fertility journey I can come here on the blog & share the happy & the sad with you. I am thankful that through this fixer upper & fertility journey & any journey for that matter we are on that you guys cheer us on through the whole thing. I am thankful that you support me in my business of the store, The Found Cottage, & all things that go with that. I am thankful that we can share in things that we love together. I am thankful that you come here to feel inspired. I am thankful that every comment & kind word you leave me inspires me to keep sharing here on the blog. I am thankful that you come to read my blog daily. I am thankful that you share your stories with me that give me hope that someday we may have a child of our very own. I am thankful that I have this community online to share in the highs & lows with. I am thankful that we can share our passions together. I am thankful that I can come on here and connect with amazing women [& men] who enjoy the same things as I do…. I could keep going, but I don’t want to annoy you. Just please know that I am forever THANKFUL for each & every one of you & I will never be able to tell you what you have helped me through in my life.
I have never really shared this potting bench on our porch before, but we basically put a sink into a workbench on the porch to make it easier to water our plants up here. I threw together this “thankful potting bench” quickly the other day in one of my moments of anxiety where I was worried about the week ahead & all I had to do. It’s so therapeutic for me to decorate & create vignettes in our farmhouse & since we have been getting a lot of yard work done this week the outside of our house has been pretty messy so I wanted to make it look a little cuter by sprucing up the potting bench on our front porch. I started by taking an old gate that I got from our shop & weaved some faux branches through the top of it in no particular order. I then hung a “thankful” sign from Feather & Birch onto the gate with floral wire. The rest is pretty much history. I placed some pumpkins I picked up from Michaels on the potting bench along with some flower pots & my big lime tree of course. That’s about it.. super simple, but a first glimpse of fall out here on the porch. Such a great reminder as we walk into our house to be thankful for everything we have.
Isn’t it funny what a simple word can mean to us & how powerful it can be? I hope you guys enjoyed seeing this fall potting bench today & thank you so much for stopping by my little blog today & for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Be sure to find me on Facebook & Instagram for more inspiration & to chat! xx
Love your fall porch, and how you layered with the fence, 3D thankful and the greenery so gorgeous!!! No surprise because everything you style turns out fabulous!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing!❤️
So so beautiful and true how one word can be so powerful. ❤️ I need this reminder too… like you said, especially when it’s a busier season or one of heartache / loss, it’s easy to overlook all the gifts of grace. ❤️ But they’re there! You are such an encouragement and inspiration! (And now I want to find an old gate and pickup some pumpkins! ?)
Adorable as always. You never disappoint! Thanks for the reminder to be thankful. It’s easy to forget, especially when going through some dark times. I needed this today.
You have amazing talent! That looks so beautiful! I really enjoy your posts, videos, and blog entries. You are truly such a nice, genuine person. 🙂
Just perfection ❤❤❤

So so charming! It’s the perfect addition to your porch. Love how you’ve styled it.
I just wanted to let you know that I find your decorating style so beautiful and cottage cozy. I too suffered from infertility and wanted you to know that I now have three adopted children from the same birthmother. I now know why my husband and I couldn’t have children, it was because we were meant to have these three wonderful kids. I feel for you right now as you are going through the hardest part. Hang in there. God is watching.
