This past week I had the absolute pleasure of heading down to millersburg , ‘Ohio for something really exciting that I will be chatting about more later this week. While I was there though I got to visit with some amazing people from creatives to business owners & beyond. One of the shops I was thankful I got to visit was CottonWood Shanty owned by the lovely Alyssa who is known for her lovely handmade scroll art & her pet squirrel who I wish I could have met. Here is a glimpse at her small shop that you must visit if you are ever in the east side of Ohio….

Her shop had a little bit of everything from baby clothes to home decor to clothing to bath products to antiques & so much more. It was so well styled & was honestly one of the most inspiring shops I had been in in my entire life. I loved every square inch & found a lot of treasures to take home. As I said before, CottonWood Shanty is known for her scroll art & so many of her scrolls are displayed throughout the store mixed in with her other treasures. Alyssa’s shop is unique because of her insane ability to display items that inspire you and show you how to use the items. Any old store can carry the same items, but it takes true talent to know how to display the items and Alyssa is that pure talent. I can’t wait to show you all the finds I got from her shop styled in our home… I was so inspired while shopping there!

Honestly I didn’t have high hopes for a small-town in Ohio, but man was I blown away by this entire shop from the food to the people to the shops. I will be back later to show off where we stayed & why we were there later this week, but for now I hope you loved this glimpse at one of my favorite small shops I have ever been to. I hope it inspires you in some way & that if you ever are in the Millersburg, Ohio area you stop by & check it out for yourself, because these charming shops are always better in person. xx

Her shop looks incredible and so inspiring. I may have to snag one of her scrolls, they are beautiful.
This looks so special! I got ideas just from your pics. Really beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see what you bought and see what you do with them. Have a great day Liz! ?
Great pictures and such lovely displays. This is not as easy as it looks. Even setting up a small space in a local shop has been challenging, so looking at someone else’s ideas is so very helpful. On to check out the other shops listed!
I loved this post and am saving it to refer back to. Thank you. I work at a shop where I help put together displays, and this is very inspiring. I love the “merchandizing” mix with enough empty space left to let it all breathe.
My friend and I go to berlin ohio and millersberg. Every year we love it.Great bakerys.
That tile on the floor!!!! (Plus, I spy a romper that you designed!)
Oh my gosh ! Love this shop . I have to stop by next time I drive through OHio.
Love this shop! Wish I lived nearby. Her design displays/vignettes are beautiful.
