Farmhouse Kitchen Makeover

This is an exciting week here on the blog!! While we are moving to our new house, I will be doing final before & afters of all the rooms in our home as we are now moving into our new, well very old, farmhouse that you can read more about [here] in my announcement post last week. During our move I am taking photos of each room as it looks right before we pack it up & sharing the final look here on the blog. We lived in this house for a year & a half & did  TON of work on it to update it from the 80’s tri-level it was to a modern day farmhouse style home. If you have been following my updates onInstagram [here] or Facebook [here] than you know it’s been a bitter sweet journey leaving our current home to live in our dream home, but you guys have been so amazing with all your encouraging & helpful words. Just one more reason I love sharing this journey with you guys. Today it’s all about our little kitchen. We didn’t quite finish this room before our move. I found cabinet hardware a little too late & didn’t finish a few other small items. But I did love this small little room even though I’m not a huge fan of cooking, this space was so cozy & we made a lot of great memories in this space. Here is how it looked right before we packed it up this week…

Wow! It’s crazy to see how far we have come with this house. Who cares that we didn’t even finish it? It’s such a big change. We took out the old cabinets & replaced them with Holiday brand cabinets in white. The counters are quartz which you can read more about [here]. We used a subway tile backsplash with dark grout & painted all the walls Behr dove white. The flooring is a dark luxury vinyl plank & of course we added tons of decor. The crate, rolling pins, crocks, clock, cutting board, & a few other items are all junkin’ finds. The light fixtures are from Home depot, the sign above the door is from Feather & Birch, the tiered tray is from Painted Fox, & the kitchen sign is a DIY you can see [here]. All the appliances are from Samsung & we replaced the door as well which is from Home Depot.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the “final” before & after of our kitchen. Honestly the move was going so quickly this week that I didn’t get a really good time to photograph it so I did it pretty quickly. I wish I would have had more time, but this is how it looked the day we boxed it up, so here it is in it’s natural environment I guess. The move has been going really well & our new house already feels like home. I can’t wait to start to show you the new house, but I want to finish showing you the final before & afters of this house first so be sure to stop by everyday this week to see all the makeovers. Thank you guys so much for stopping by the blog & for sharing it with your friends & family. It means a lot! xx

I love the white subway tile look. The floor looks alright as well, but as a wood flooring snob I prefer a traditional wood floor. 🙂 That being said, the overall look of the kitchen is great, very true to its roots.

Liz Marie, can you please tell me, where does the door in your kitchen, beside the oven, go to…? I have searched & searched your blog to find the answer, with no luck. I know it is strange, but I have always been curious to know what is behind that door.!!

Truly looking forward to your new journey in your new home. You are living a dream most of us can only hope for, congratulations 🙂

I was curious to know the size of your kitchen? I feel like my kitchen is too big for me.( I have a small family) I feel like I have lots of wasted space that could be used differently.
