Life has been kicking my booty lately. I know everyone is feeling that right now. It’s summer, life is busy, & lately I feel like I can’t catch up. I’m trying, but I also know I’m human so I’m not trying to be hard on myself for falling behind. I mean.. again, it’s summer. Time to enjoy life with family & friends too because we all know summers are short here in Michigan so you better enjoy it while it’s here. I have a point to all of that. We have been moving our office & our guest bedroom around for a few weeks now without a lot of time to work on either room, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t made progress so I wanted to update you guys on the progress we have made today to celebrate those small milestones. Remember that you may not be done with the project or where you want to be at, but making progress is just as good especially when you are enjoying your life. Don’t let projects stress you out. It’s not all about the finished project, but also the journey to get there.
If you can remember, a few months ago this was our guest bedroom in this house…
Not bad at all, but the room just wasn’t working for us & we thought it would work better on our lower level of our house. The new location would give guest there own living room & bathroom on their level which we thought would be great for privacy & comfortably for them. Moving the office to the guest bedroom would make it be on the same level as our master bedroom & our master bathroom. We liked that idea, but moving the furniture downstairs & then moving all the office furniture upstairs was not our favorite moment. & now that we have moved some office furniture upstairs here is what it looked like today…
First things first I need to organize and clean that bookshelf. Talk about a “beautiful mess” All that stuff on the top just lying there? I really want pretty organization so that’s a project I will be working on asap. Another thing is getting a bigger rug for this room, this is one we just had lying around so I will be looking for another rug. Also, that ampersand art will be heading to my booth at Painted Farmgirl very soon so I will be creating another focal point wall over that daybed. We may even be doing a cool accent wall in here which is exciting. Actually all the walls need some love so I’ll be hanging art and inspiration on the walls soon too. The room just needs a lot of organization & finishing touches to be the perfect little home office.
Seriously, I will say it again, Mr. LMB is a genius for suggesting we switch the office and our guest bedroom. I love all the light in this room & I love the direction it’s heading. I use this room so much more than I used the office on our lower level so that’s already a bonus. I will be back soon with more office progress & updates so stay tuned. How do you like the office so far? the beginning is pretty exciting right? Let me know in the comments below, find me on Facebook, & chat with me on Instagram. xx

Things are looking lovely. Is that a crib you’re using as a bench? I can’t quite make out what that is
Looks beautiful!!! I have been following you for some time now and just want to say I love your style! Your rooms are all lovely! Love that old door with the office sign. Looks really wonderful! I wish my home could be that gorgeous while it’s still a work-in-progress. haha. Your “befores” and “progress” pictures always look perfect to me:) Did you decide if you’re going to paint those banker’s chairs? I love them as wood tones!
They got brought to my storage unit for now & are remaining wood! I want to keep them & find a place for them later. I LOVE those little chairs!!!!! & thank you for your comment. I did vacuum before I took these photos haha 😉

It is gorgeous, Liz!! Plus, I somehow missed your DIY Chalk Paint Farmhouse Light Makeover so I’m super psyched about this beautiful new find 🙂
This looks gorgeous. I love this kind of style.
And if you are afraid of buying art, because you don’t know exactly how the artwork will fit in your room download the Kooness App. This app, thanks to the augmented reality technology let you see a preview of the work on your wall.

I love how you put the old door behind your desk. Your new office has become my new inspiration for my home office. Did you make the “OFFICE” sign or can it be purchased?
